This lesson will be focused on I O T devices and what they are.
In this lesson,
you will learn what I o t means,
and we will review examples of I O T devices.
So what does I don't see mean anyway?
I. O. T. Is an acronym for Internet of Things.
The Common definition off Internet of Things Devices refers to connected devices
beyond the standard devices like computers, laptops, smartphones, etcetera
that can transfer data over a network without requiring any human input.
I'll see Technology supports consumer, commercial, industrial and infrastructure spaces with remote monitoring capabilities.
The selection of these devices is vast and growing every year and includes devices such a smart voice assistance, speakers and surveillance cameras and includes many types of medical equipment, environmental sensors and smart appliances.
There is a lot of research out there reporting the estimated amount of I O T devices.
There is an average of 20 to 26 billion I OT devices today.
As you can see from this slide,
there are a Iot T devices that touch every part of our lives
and the i o. T. Use cases and technology will continue to grow and expand.
Here are some examples of consumer I O T devices.
Appliances such as refrigerators, vacuum clothes, washers and dryers. Microwaves and hot water heaters.
Smart TV's printers, cameras and doorbells,
connected toys and baby monitors,
thermostats, lightbulbs, mirrors, smart locks and water sensors.
You can control these devices remotely and even automatically order required products such as printer ink cartridges and other things.
Here are some example of commercial I O T devices.
Medical and healthcare applications

These devices can be used remotely to monitor the blood pressure, heart rate glucose levels off patients or elderly from the patient's home and alert the hospital staff.

and Lastly, there are industrial Iot T devices, which are also refer to as I O. T. And are used to help regulate and monitor industrial systems that support agriculture, such as farming and manufacturing systems.
Infrastructure. Iot devices are also used to monitor and control operations of sustainable urban and rural infrastructures like bridges. Railway tracks on and off shore wind forms is a key application off the infrastructure. I O. T
is your television and I o t device.
If your television is a smart TV
and connects to the Internet, then yes, it is considered an I. O. T. Device.
