Hello. My name is Jasmine Jackson and our courses intro to vagrant. And in this video I will show you how to suspend a vagrant machine. Let's get started.
00:13
The learning objectives for this video is to show how to suspend a vagrant machine. And we will be doing this using our own boots. Trustee 64 Favorite machine. So let's get started.
00:26
Okay. I am going to into a vagrant up
00:29
to make sure our
00:32
vagrant machine is running
01:07
and going to our virtual ization software again. I'm using virtual box. You will see that are vagrant Machine is running
01:15
so going back to commander
01:19
again, remember, commander is a council emulator where you can enter limits commands on a windows machine. I am going to answer the command vagrant system in two,
01:33
suspend or put our vagrant machine to sleep
01:38
pressing Enter
01:46
and you will see there's a message saving VM state and suspending execution and going back to virtual box. You will see that are vagrant Machine is saved. So are vagrants. Is spending Are vagrants usually suspending? Our vagrant machine
02:05
was successful because we currently have a saved state.
02:09
So
02:10
if we want to start our vagrant machine again. Remember, we into the command vagrant,
02:19
huh?
02:31
As you can see, it says resuming suspended machine booting machine.
02:55
Okay, going back to virtual box, we see that our machine is back in a running state.
03:02
So just to
03:06
summarized first arm ish, our machine was off. So we executed the vagrant up command to bring our machine on to start our machine.
03:16
And when we did that are vagrant machine had a state of running. Next we entered the vagrants, suspend command, and we had a message that said saving machine state and suspended execution.
03:30
And again, I went back to first of all box, and we saw that our vagrant machine had a state of saved,
03:37
which meant that suspending our machine was successful.
03:40
Next to reboot the machine, we enter the vagrant up command and, as you can see in the messages, said, resuming suspended machine because remember, the command we entered before was vaguer suspend. So we had a message, that
04:00
message that said resume suspended machine
04:02
booting machine. And then when we went back to virtual box here we see that our machine again, it's back in a running state. So we were able to suspend our machine and then reboot our machine or awake our machine. And
04:20
our machine isn't a running state, which means that it is on.
04:26
So as you can see, suspending and rebooting are vagrant machine is not to that. It's, you know, just to commands, to spend Baker suspend and vagrant up.
04:38
So let's return to our lecture. So in summary in this video we discussed how to suspend a vagrant machine and we did that with the demo. And in our next video, in our next lecture, we will discuss halting a machine. And you could think of this as
04:56
shutting down the machine in windows so I can't wait to see you in that lecture
05:01
and have a good day. Bye.
