>> I've got my Kali Instincts booted up.
00:03
We're going to go ahead and login.
00:03
As I was saying earlier,
00:03
I have enlarged my resolution.
00:03
I think I'm running at 1,600
00:03
by 1,020 or something similar to that.
00:03
Anyway, I've changed the desktop background.
00:03
We've got a lot more real estate
00:03
on the screen to work with here.
00:03
One of the first things you want to do when you set
00:03
up your instance of
00:03
Kali is to go ahead and update it.
00:03
We're going to run apt-get update and apt-get upgrade.
00:03
This will go ahead and give me
00:03
all the latest modules
00:03
and libraries and so on
00:03
>> for whatever I've got installed.
00:03
>> I'm going to go ahead and say yes,
00:03
I want to continue.
00:03
This process may take a few minutes depending on
00:03
your connection speed and your speed of your hardware.
00:03
But it is worthwhile to get updated before you begin to
00:03
further build out your system and
00:03
to do any customizations.
00:03
It's still cranking along here.
00:03
It's been a few minutes.
00:03
As I was saying, this does take a little time,
00:03
especially if you have not
00:03
run the update in quite a while.
00:03
But it's unpacking a bunch of libraries.
00:03
We'll let that finish off.
