Hello
00:01
and welcome to the final video of our course.
00:05
I want to thank you for making it this far
00:08
and allowing me the privilege of sharing A W s with you.
00:12
We have actually covered quite a bit.
00:15
We began with an introduction to cloud computing.
00:19
From there we had a brief history lesson on how AWS got started
00:23
and discuss the value proposition of cloud computing.
00:27
Next, we set up our free tier account
00:30
with multi factor authentication
00:32
and discuss some of the functionality of identity and access management at a high level.
00:39
We also discuss s3 storage
00:42
and even created a static Web site.
00:45
After that, we spend some time spinning up our first E c two instances
00:50
and we even learned how to automate thes task
00:53
by a bash Scripts.
00:55
Finally,
00:57
we put it all together and created our own custom vpc
01:00
complete with public and private sub nets security groups Nat gateways
01:07
And we even spun up a my sequel database
01:10
in our custom vpc
01:12
I hope that you found this course useful
01:15
and you are encouraged to move further along in your cloud journey.
01:19
I constructed this course
01:22
as a first learning step for anyone who's interested in learning about A W S and its offerings,
01:29
I merely scratched the surface of what is available.
01:33
However,
01:34
after completing this course and the labs, you are very much on your way to taking the necessary steps
01:41
to prepare for an actual AWS certification.
01:45
So,
01:46
as I said in the introduction video,
01:49
I will share with you the steps that I took to earn five AWS certifications.
01:55
I begin my cloud journey
01:57
about three years ago.
01:59
A former colleague of mine
02:00
who is a C C i E.
02:05
That's a Cisco Certify Internet expert. For those who aren't familiar with the acronym,
02:10
he kept telling me how I needed to pursue A W s certifications.
02:15
He had just attempted the AWS solution architect associate exam
02:21
and had failed it by one point.
02:23
He wasn't discouraged at all, however, and remained excited about the many opportunities that A. W s offers.
02:30
We were both working on network engineering projects at the time,
02:35
but we could see that many of our clients were beginning to explore cloud options.
02:40
One night,
02:42
after another cloud conversation with my former colleague,
02:46
I ordered a copy of the AWS Certified Solutions architect official study guide
02:52
published by Amazon Web service is
02:53
and proceeded to devour that book from cover to cover for the next three months.
02:59
I also opened a free tier account.
03:01
I read numerous AWS white papers and documentation,
03:07
watched A W s reinvent videos on YouTube
03:10
and practice by the free tear each night.
03:15
Three months later,
03:15
I sat for and past the AWS solution architect associate exam.
03:22
My intent was to stop their, but at the time there were only five. AWS certification is available
03:30
three at the associate level.
03:30
So I set a new goal to earn all three associates certifications.
03:38
After earning all three,
03:39
I felt obligated to get the professional certifications as well.
03:45
The entire round of certifications took me about a year.
03:50
I thought that I was done there.
03:52
But then A W s came out with the speciality exams for networking,
03:57
big data
03:58
security
03:59
and brand new specialties For Alexis skill builder
04:03
and machine learning.
04:05
There are now a total of 11 AWS certifications that you can obtain.
04:12
What do I recommend for you?
04:15
After completing this course, I definitely recommend that you pursue the AWS Certified Solutions architect associate credential
04:24
that track will provide you with the necessary foundation for the AWS technologies,
04:30
some of which
04:31
you will be familiar with after taking this course.
04:34
But others will be brand new to you
04:38
after hitting that milestone.
04:40
Then it's really up to you which way you want to go.
04:44
You could continue on this certify solution, architect, professional path.
04:49
Or you could pursue
04:51
the other two associate courses.
04:55
Or you could earn one of the specialties, certifications or all of them.
04:59
It really depends on where your interests are
05:01
and what goals you have set free a professional career.
05:04
Regardless,
05:06
you cannot go wrong with choosing a cloud certification
05:13
again. I thank you for the time that you've invested in taking this course.
05:18
I hope that you found the information presented,
05:20
relevant
05:23
and useful.
05:24
I have enjoyed producing it for you.
05:27
Remember,
05:29
Just like farmers,
05:30
we reap what we sow. So put in the time
05:33
and effort to do your best
05:36
so that you will be your best.
05:39
As the late great
05:41
Zig Ziglar was famous for saying,
05:45
I'll see you at the top
