Hi. Welcome to Monza one course introduction. This is less than three environments set up. We're on the first sub lesson three point to my secret installation under Windows and this lesson we're going to install the my single database engine on a Windows 10 machine.
00:15
You will need administration access and Internet access to complete this lesson.
00:20
Now I just finished downloading the execute Herbal. I'll provide links to this in a study guide documents so that you can easily find the download location. However, if you know how to get the my sequel Community Edition download, feel free to do so. It's whatever is more convenient for you.
00:34
So let's go ahead and get started. I need to go to my downloads folder where I just downloaded it and double click to execute.
00:42
Now start the installation process
00:45
and I do expect some administration prompts to prompt me. And there they are. So yes,
00:54
I'm gonna get this started.
00:57
It shouldn't take too long. Usually takes longer to install the ah sequel editors and yes, again.
01:04
Here we go. We need to agree to the license terms and click next.
01:11
Now you might be tempted to selected the developer option, however, go with the server only it's easier to get started. The developer has dependencies in it. That you may ah, may cause you to run into some problems. So let's just go with the server. Click next,
01:26
and the defaults are fine. Of course, if you know how to change the past, feel free to do so. But the defaults are perfectly fine.
01:34
So we're gonna leave, That is, is
01:36
and click next.
01:40
And then on this screen, we will click. Execute
01:46
should not take too long,
01:52
and once it's finished, we will click next
01:56
and on the screen we will click next again
02:00
and on the group replication screen. We're gonna click the stand alone, my sequel server option,
02:06
and the reason we want to select this is because for development in this course we only need one server. We don't need a cluster, and the cluster is also more complicated to get going as well.
02:16
So stand alone my single server and then click. Next,
02:22
we will leave the default options, as is on this screen as well, typing, networking
02:27
and click next
02:30
and for the authentication method were actually going to switch it to use legacy authentication method, it will be easier to work with if you use the strong password encryption, you have to go through the trouble of setting up SSL certificates,
02:43
and so it's much easier to get the legacy authentication method working on Click next. Once you have that option selected,
02:51
go ahead and type in a password that you're comfortable with remembering You will need it when you access the server
02:59
and then click next,
03:01
go ahead and leave the window. Silver screen defaults on
03:07
next
03:07
and on the apply configuration. Go ahead and click. Execute.
03:15
It shouldn't take too long to apply the configuration again. A lot of the installation time will depend on your computer's performance metrics, such as its CPU speed, and it's hard drive, read and write speed
03:27
as well as Ram.
03:30
So finish
03:35
and installation complete.
03:37
So we click finish and we're done. We have my sequel installed on Windows. Now we can do a quick check by typing in service is and the window search area.
03:46
You'll see this gear. I kind icon with the service is ah, apt name going to click on that
03:53
that will open up the service's screen
03:57
and it's alphabetized. So if we go down to the M section,
04:01
we'll see my sickle 80 running. And that means that my secret Service is running. It set the automatic, which means it'll turn on when the computer restarts or it turns off and on, which is good.
04:12
And that's it. We've installed my sequel. We are ready to go.
04:15
I hope you enjoy this lesson. I hope you got your my civil service running, and I will see you in the next lesson. Thank you.
