Welcome to the Fundamental System Security Skills Course & Certification Test
Because there are multiple threats looming throughout cyber space, it is essential for both businesses and individuals to secure their systems. On the organizational level, this job is handled by the Information Security Systems Engineer, or someone of a similar title. They determine requirements for system security, design the system security layout, examine the existing tool functionality and choose additional tools for securing enterprise data. In addition to the broad scope of systems knowledge needed by someone in this role, Security Systems professionals should also have a baseline understanding of cryptography and the ability to manage projects. Information Systems Security, commonly referred to as INFOSEC, refers to the processes and methodologies required to keep information confidential and available while assuring its integrity. This is known as the CIA triad, and is a main focus of the Fundamental Systems Security skill certification test. At its core, Systems Security surrounds the 7 domains of a typical IT infrastructure and the layered security solutions that must be implemented for those domains. Systems Security knowledge is backed by awareness of the threats to each domain, the IT Security policy framework, and the impact of data classification standards on them.
