In this module, you will complete the following exercises:
- Exercise 1 - Manage User Calendar and Public Folder
After completing this lab, you will be able to:
- Share calendars among users in an Exchange Server 2016 organization
- Add a public folder and post messages between Exchange Server 2016 users
The following exam objectives are covered in this lab:
- Identify application servers - collaboration servers
It will take approximately 45 minutes to complete this lab.
Exercise 1 - Manage User Calendar and Public Folder
There are plenty of software packages available for organizations to streamline working together, reduce costs or make solutions easier to manage. Microsoft offers technologies such as Exchange Server widely known as a messaging application. However, Exchange Server has some features that make collaboration possible such as shared calendars and public folders.
In this exercise, you will learn how to use shared calendars to minimize conflicts when scheduling meetings, events among members of the organization. Public folders have been configured on the Exchange Servers of this lab. Therefore it will be available on the Outlook Web App client. A public folder is a centralized repository of information to Exchange users where messages such as announcements can be posted and viewed publicly. Attachments can likewise be added with the posted items in the public folder.
