Exercise 1 - Create and Configure a Linux Virtual Machine

Hyper-V is a machine virtualization platform from Microsoft that enables you to install and run multiple 32-bit or 64-bit operating systems in parallel on the physical computer. This enables you to work on various operating systems without having to invest in expensive computer hardware. In addition, you can use Hyper-V to install and test virtual machines of various configurations without affecting the functionality of other virtual or physical machines.

Linux is a Unix-like operating system created under the model of free and open source software development. Installing Linux doesn’t require any license as it runs on a wide range of computing devices, including the computer and various mobile devices. Fedora, Ubuntu, and CentOS are some of the popular Linux distributions. In this exercise, you will run Kali Linux as a live image on a virtual machine. You will configure the network properties of the virtual machine and use it to connect to the Internet.
