Overview

Introduction

The SY0-401 - Network Security - Routing Protocols module provides you with the instruction and Server hardware to develop your hands on skills in the defined topics. This module includes the following exercises:

  • Configuring a Network
  • Sniffing Routing Traffic
  • Injecting Poison Routes
  • Configuring Authentication for RIP Packets

Exercise 1 - Configuring a Network

Routing protocols are used to exchange route information between routers dynamically, rather than having to configure each router with static routes. This saves a huge amount of administrative overhead, but older routing protocols are vulnerable to spoofing. In this exercise, you will learn how to manually configure a static IP route and how to enable IP routers on a Windows Server.

Exercise 2 - Sniffing Routing Traffic

In this exercise, you will examine some routing traffic as the servers exchange RIP routing updates.
