The Managing Virtual Machine Movement provides you with the instruction and server hardware to develop your hands on skills in the defined topics. This module includes the following exercises:
- Prepare System Requirements for Virtual Machine Move
- Move Virtual Machines and Hyper-V Storage
Exercise 1 - Prepare System Requirements for Virtual Machine Move
Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V Service supports live migration of virtual machines from one Hyper-V server to another Hyper-V server. This built-in functionality enables you to configure migration by specifying options to use, such as the authentication protocol, maximum number of concurrent migrations, the network for live migrations, and performance options.
In this exercise, you will prepare system requirements for migration of virtual machines between Hyper-V servers.
Exercise 2 - Move Virtual Machines and Hyper-V Storage
After setting up the system requirements for a successful move of live virtual machines from a Hyper-V host to a shared storage, you are ready to make the actual migration of virtual machines.
In this exercise, you will use one option each to move the storage of the virtual machines hosted on the PLABHYPERV02 to the SharedVolume shared storage configured.
