The Managing Storage Infrastructure module provides you with the instruction and server hardware to develop your hands on skills in the defined topics. This module includes the following exercises:
- Prepare System Requirements for Shared Storage
- Configure Disk Storage for Virtual Machine
Estimated time to complete this lab: 60 minutes.
Exercise 1 - Prepare System Requirements for Shared Storage
System Center 2012 Virtual Machine Manager R2 provides flexibility in managing disk storage for virtual machines in Hyper-V hosts. The Fabric workspace streamlines the management of virtual machines’ network and storage properties using SCVMM.
Exercise 2 - Configure Disk Storage for Virtual Machine
In the previous exercise, you configured PLABC01 to run as iSCSI Target Server. The mentioned server will be provisioned as a dedicated storage for virtual machines that will be created later on the PLABHYPERV02 server using SCVMM.
When a Hyper-V host is managed by SCVMM, it is aware of the disk storage locations of the virtual machines created on the virtualization server.
