Introduction

The Configuring Active Directory Certificate Services module provides you with the instruction and server hardware to develop your hands on skills. This module includes the following exercises:

  • Install Active Directory Certificate Services
  • Configure CA Server Key Archival
  • Backup and Restore Certificate Authority

Exercise 1 - Install Active Directory Certificate Services

In this exercise you will perform the tasks to install and configure certificate services for Windows Server 2008 Active Directory.

Exercise 2 - Configure CA Server Key Archival

In this exercise you will perform the tasks to configure certificate services to archive issued certificates in Windows Server 2008 R2 Active Directory.

Exercise 3 - Backup and Restore Certificate Authority

The Certification Authority is mission critical network service whose availability must be ensured at all times. In this task, you will perform a simple back and restore of Certification Authority service.
