  • Verify of the 2FA authentication

Exam Objectives

The following exam objectives are covered in this lab:

  • CAS-003 2.1 Analyze a scenario and integrate network and security components, concepts and architectures to meet security requirement.
  • CAS-003 4.4 Given a scenario, implement cryptographic techniques.

Lab Duration

It will take approximately 1 hour to complete this lab.

Exercise 1 - Configure Google Authenticator

Google Authenticator is a very productive application that provides and allows for two-factor authentication (2FA) on a device that you wish to improve the level of security against. It uses the Time-Based One-Time Password Algorithm (TOTP) and HMAC-based One-Time Password Algorithm (HOTP).

The password generated can then be used as an additional requirement to enter through an SSH connection or in fact any type of configuration required.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this exercise, you will be able to:

  • Connect to Win10 and Kali
  • Perform dependencies installation
  • Configure PAM module and SSH
  • Verify of the 2FA authentication
