Introduction
The Modifying a Worksheet module provides you with the instructions and devices to develop your hands on skills. This module includes the following exercises:
- Managing Worksheets
- Inserting, Deleting and Hiding
Lab time: It will take approximately 1 hour to complete this lab.
Exercise 1 - Managing Worksheets
Excel workbooks can be organized to make it easier to find information that contain so much data. It can be hard to understand what is in a workbook with the default, number-based sheet names. Fortunately, you can rename them. You can also color-code sheet tabs, and hide and unhide worksheets, so you're showing only what you want to show to a particular user or users.
Exercise 2 - Inserting, Deleting and Hiding
You often find that the structure you initially set up on a worksheet needs to be modified. You might need to add new rows of data in the middle of a table, or a new category of information as a new column. You can easily insert or delete cells and ranges, or entire rows or columns.
You can also hide rows or columns so that their data remains in the workbook but isn't visible. This is useful when some of the data in a workbook is appropriate for some people to see but not others, or when you don't want people distracted by too much detail.
