This software-based storage expansion employs Internet Protocol (IP) as the medium to establish communication between devices. Newer versions of Windows operating system such as Windows Server 2016 and earlier support iSCSI target service that can be installed separately. For the newer versions of Windows (like Windows 7, Server 2008, or higher), support the iSCSI initiators that act as a client to iSCSI servers.

Exercise 2 - Preparing the iSCSI Initiator for MPIO

After installing and setting up the iSCSI Target Server on the domain controller server, you will configure the iSCSI Initiator client to use MPIO when connecting to the remote disk volume.
