Exercise 1 - Add a Reporting Services Report to Your Power Pivot Workbook

Power Pivot is an add-in for Microsoft Excel 2010. It enables you to import data from multiple data sources into a single Excel workbook. You can create relationships between the data, add calculated data using formulae and build pivot tables and charts.

In this exercise, you will add a Reporting Services report to your Power Pivot Workbook. You will first start the SQL Server Agent job. You will then create a data source view. You will build an Analysis Services cube and establish a connection between Excel and the project report.

Exercise 2 - Deploy PowerPivot Workbook to SharePoint Using BIDS

Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) is now known as SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT).In this exercise, you will deploy Power Pivot workbook to SharePoint using BIDS.You will first start the SQL Server Reporting Services Service in SharePoint 2013 Central Administration. You will create a new SSRS Service application and manage the service applications. You will create a new top-level site and deploy the Power Pivot workbook to the SharePoint site.

Exercise 3 - Demonstrate How to Schedule Data Refresh for PowerPivot Workbook Published to a SharePoint Library

Power Pivot data refresh is a scheduled server side operation. It queries the external data sources to update the embedded Power Pivot data in an Excel 2010 workbook. Data refresh is a built-in feature of Power Pivot for SharePoint.

Exercise 4 - Deploy a PowerView Report to a SharePoint Library

You can import database data with the help of an external data source to PowerView reports. You can then deploy the PowerView reports to a SharePoint Library. In this exercise, you will deploy a PowerView report to a SharePoint Library.
