>> Hey there, Cybrarians.
00:00
>> Welcome back to
00:00
>> the Linux plus course here at Cybrary.
00:00
I'm your instructor Rob Goelz.
00:00
In today's lesson, we're going to move into Module 21,
00:00
where we're going to
00:00
cover troubleshooting system problems.
00:00
Upon a completion of today's lesson,
00:00
you are going to be able to do attack
00:00
the system troubleshooting objectives
00:00
that are going to be on
00:00
the Linux plus exam and we'll see how
00:00
these concepts are covered in Module 20.
00:00
What will you take away from this module, well,
00:00
we're going to understand
00:00
some common Linux system problems
00:00
and learn how to troubleshoot system issues.
00:00
We're going to determine the best way we can
00:00
recover from these issues and we're going to
00:00
do this by using system
00:00
troubleshooting tools and overall,
00:00
this is going to help us to ensure
00:00
system performance and security.
00:00
In this module, we're going to cover
00:00
network concepts for troubleshooting as well as
00:00
troubleshoot network configuration itself
00:00
and then we're going to see how we can do
00:00
troubleshooting with Netstat NSS
00:00
and look at network latency troubleshooting.
00:00
Next, we're going to move
00:00
into troubleshooting network performance
00:00
and looking at things like fixing name resolution,
00:00
checking network security, and
00:00
sniffing and mapping networks.
00:00
Then we're going to move into some storage stuff.
00:00
We're going to look at monitoring
00:00
disk space and looking at disk latency.
00:00
We're going to investigate the different types
00:00
of IO schedulers and
00:00
also see how we can prepare some storage issues.
00:00
Then we're going to move into CPU and
00:00
system related issues so we're going to
00:00
monitor CPU load average,
00:00
and troubleshoot CPU issues.
00:00
We'll look at some memory concepts,
00:00
learn about swapping,
00:00
we'll investigate memory issues and finally,
00:00
we'll wrap up by seeing how we can
00:00
recover a lost root password.
00:00
In this lesson, we covered
00:00
the system troubleshooting objectives that are on
00:00
the Linux plus exam and we saw
00:00
how the concepts in this module,
00:00
Module 20 are related to those objectives.
00:00
Thanks so much for being here and I look
00:00
forward to seeing you in the next lesson.
