Exercise 1 - Working with Graphic Elements
Text both inside and outside text boxes can be formatted with the font and paragraph options on the Home tab. You can change things like font face, size, color, spacing, and alignment. You can even apply some font effects such as glow and reflection to either text type.
But only text in a text box can receive the full WordArt treatment, which includes 3-D rotation, following a path, and warping. In fact, to change text to WordArt, just apply a WordArt style to text in the document body; the text is then pulled out and put in a text box.
WordArt essentially treats text characters like a set of shapes, and WordArt styles are much like shape styles, with many of the same options. The WordArt group is on the Drawing Tools Format tab, which appears when a shape or text box is selected
