Introduction
The Configure, Verify, and Troubleshoot Multi Area OSPFv3 for IPv6 module provides you with the instructions and Cisco hardware to develop your hands on skills in configuring the OSPFv3 routing protocol in a multi area implementation using IPv6. This module includes the following exercises:
- Configuring multi area OSPFv3
- Examining the selection of DRs, BDRs within the context of OSPFv3
- Configuring additional OSPFv3 functions such as route cost
Exercise 1 - Configuring Multi Area OSPFv3
In this exercise you will configure a multi area OSPFv3 implementation. You’ll also learn how to verify your OSPFv3 configuration using relevant show commands.
Exercise 2 - DRs, BDRs and Route Cost in OSPFv3
You have now built a relatively complex OSPFv3 network with two areas, a number of subnets, a couple of ABRs, a backbone router.
In this exercise you will look at what Designated Routers or DRs and Backup Designated Routers or BDRs are in the network and what bandwidth and reference costs are and how to use them all within the context of OSPFv3.
