>> Hey there Cybrarians and welcome back to
00:00
the Linux+ course here at
00:00
Cybrary and welcome to the course conclusion.
00:00
Upon completion of this lesson,
00:00
you are going to be able to summarize
00:00
what we've learned as well as
00:00
understand the next steps to prepare for
00:00
>> the Linux+ exam.
00:00
>> First of all, congratulations,
00:00
we've covered this epic amount of information in
00:00
this course and I know it's been
00:00
a marathon and not a sprint.
00:00
Congratulations on sticking with
00:00
it and committing to learning Linux,
00:00
and thank you for continuing to learn with me.
00:00
Let's recap what we learned before we talk
00:00
about what we need to do to prepare for the exam.
00:00
In domain 1, the hardware and system
00:00
configuration domain or modules 1 through 6,
00:00
this is where we covered concepts such as
00:00
the Linux boot process and
00:00
working with our kernel modules.
00:00
We also saw how we can manage and configure
00:00
network connections and storage and then we
00:00
talked a little bit about Cloud
00:00
and virtualization concepts as
00:00
well as localization and configuring
00:00
localization on our systems.
00:00
In domain 2 the
00:00
system's operation and maintenance domain.
00:00
Module 7 through 14,
00:00
we covered just a ton of
00:00
information and here we talked about things like
00:00
working with software in Linux and using utilities and
00:00
our repositories and
00:00
package managers to install software.
00:00
Then we worked on managing users and groups as
00:00
well as handling file and directory objects.
00:00
We've got to work with system D and
00:00
Sysvinit for managing services in Linux.
00:00
Then we moved into doing some fun stuff,
00:00
installing server roles and
00:00
giving them a purpose in life.
00:00
Next, we move on to scheduling
00:00
jobs before we got a chance to
00:00
look at working with devices in Linux, aka hardware.
00:00
Then finally, we rounded things out by talking about
00:00
graphical user interfaces and remote desktops.
00:00
In our domain 3 security domain modules 15 through 20,
00:00
we covered managing file and directory permissions as
00:00
well as implementing and configuring
00:00
access and authentication.
00:00
Then we talked about configuring
00:00
security best practices as well as logging services.
00:00
Then we got to play around with Linux firewalls,
00:00
as well as work with backup and compression tools
00:00
to wrap things up for our security domain.
00:00
In our Linux troubleshooting and
00:00
diagnostics domain or domain 4,
00:00
we covered resolving issues by
00:00
>> analyzing system property.
00:00
>> Seeing how we can determine what's
00:00
going on with the system by looking at
00:00
the properties and then we moved on to looking at
00:00
the processes on the system to
00:00
>> optimize the performance.
00:00
>> Finally, we looked at troubleshooting, user,
00:00
application and hardware issues.
00:00
For our last domain, domain 5,
00:00
the automation and scripting domain or
00:00
modules 25 through 27,
00:00
we covered creating and executing Bash scripts.
00:00
We spent quite a bit of time talking
00:00
about learning Bash scripts because you will see
00:00
some of this on the exam and then
00:00
>> we covered a little bit
00:00
>> of information about performing version control on Git,
00:00
and had an overview of
00:00
understanding orchestration concepts and processes.
00:00
What do we do now?
00:00
Well, what we're going to do
00:00
now is review the course material.
00:00
We're going to prepare for this Linux+ exam.
00:00
I would tell you to definitely take
00:00
a look at the resources tab on the course.
00:00
There's a study guide there and a syllabus.
00:00
This will help you map
00:00
the information and the objectives on
00:00
the exam to the content that's covered in the course.
00:00
We'll also have a glossary so
00:00
that you can review terms and
00:00
prepare for some of those multiple
00:00
choice questions and answers.
00:00
We're also going to have some references that you can
00:00
use to dive deeper into the material
00:00
and help you to better understand
00:00
the concepts before you take the exam.
00:00
Beyond that, I would definitely recommend taking
00:00
practice exams, take practice tests.
00:00
Cybrary has partnerships with Kaplan and
00:00
Practice Labs and you can take Linux+ practice exams.
00:00
Once you've done that, go ahead and review
00:00
any domains or concepts that you missed
00:00
on the practice exam and then
00:00
go back and watch those videos and watch
00:00
those lessons and reinforce
00:00
your understanding or read more about these concepts.
00:00
Maybe some of the references that we've talked about.
00:00
Now, once you've done that, retake the exam,
00:00
at least score 85-90 percent, rinse and repeat.
00:00
But once you get to that point and you're passing
00:00
these exams with 85-90 percent,
00:00
book the exam, you're ready to take the Linux+.
00:00
With that, in this lesson,
00:00
we covered the material that we've
00:00
crushed in this course as well as
00:00
the plant to prepare and take the Linux+ exam.
00:00
As a final note, thank you so much for
00:00
being here and continuing to learn with me.
00:00
It means the world to me and I
00:00
hope to see you around Cybrary.
