Hello. My name is Jasmine Jackson and our courses intro to vagrant. And in this lesson, we will have a demo of halting a vagrant machine. Let's get started.
So the learning objectives for this video are how to halt a vagrant machine. Let's start with our demo.
So as you can see, I have commander open and again I explain, Commander. And the second lesson where we installed Virtual box vagrant and then commander, which is a console emulator
for windows where you can execute linens commands. So I have that open and I'm in my vagrant folder
And I have executed the vagrant up Command to start our vagrant box again in boo to Trustee 64
and going to virtual box. You see that are vagrant machine is running
now. What I'm going to do is I'm going to halt our machine going back to Commander. I'm going to enter the command vagrant
And as you can see, you know, we received a message a tipped in graceful shut down a virtual machine
and going back to virtual box. Our machine has been successfully halted or shut down. As you can see, the state is powered off.
So now going back to Commander, We're going to inter vagrant up
to restart or boot or machine.
And we're going through the normal booting process.
And as you can see here, booting VM,
secure show host Address. Excuse me of local host port 20 to 22 we can see that machine booted and ready.
So now going back to virtual box are virtual machine again. The Embu to trustee 64 machine as running. So we have successfully started our machine
is how we halt the machine. As you can see, it was pretty painless. So we enter the command vagrant halt
here and we received a message. Excuse me. We received a message stating attempting, graceful shut down the VM. And then I was showed how r machine powered off.
And then I entered vagrant up to boot our machine and we went through the normal
procedure of starting our machine
and going back too far. Troll box. It is currently running, So we have successfully shut down and restarted our machine. So in summary in this video,
we have learned how to halt a machine with the command vagrant halt. And also how to reboot our machine with vagrant up. And in our next lesson, we will talk about how to
destroy a machine and how we should use that command very sparingly.
So I can't wait to see you in the next lecture. And I hope you have a good day. Bye.
