Introduction
The Design Roles for Calculated Measures module provides you with the instructions and devices to develop hands on skills in the following topic:
- Setting up security to calculated measures through roles in an Analysis Services cube
Exercise 1 - Set up Security to Calculated Members through Roles
Calculated members are members of a dimension or a measure group. They are based on a combination of cube data, arithmetic operators, numbers, and functions. Calculated members add functionality to your cube. SSAS allows you to set up security to calculated members through roles.
In this exercise, you will create an SSAS cube based on the AdventureWorksDW2012 database. You will create a calculated member named InternertSalesReport in the cube. Finally, you will define a role-based security to the calculated member.
