The Design Package Configurations for SSIS Packages module provides you with the instructions and devices to develop hands on skills in the following topic:
- Adding configurations to SSIS packages
Exercise 1 - Adding Configurations to SSIS Packages
An SSIS package is an assembled collection of connections, control flow elements, data flow element, even handlers, variables, parameters and configurations. When you create an SSIS package, you also set properties on the package. You use configurations to assign values to package properties at run time. Thus package configuration in SSIS enables you to update package property at run time. In this exercise, you will first create an SSIS package based on AdventureWorks2012 database. Then you will add a variable and parameters to the package. Finally you will add a configuration to the package.
