Introduction

Welcome to the Configure Two Factor Authentication Practice Lab. In this module you will be provided with the instructions and devices needed to develop your hands-on skills.

• Perform dependencies installation
• Configure PAM module and SSH
• Verify of the 2FA authentication

Lab Duration

It will take approximately 1 hour to complete this lab.

Exercise 1 - Configure Google Authenticator

Google Authenticator is a very productive application that provides and allows for two-factor authentication (2FA) on a device that you wish to improve the level of security against. It uses the Time-Based One-Time Password Algorithm (TOTP) and HMAC-based One-Time Password Algorithm (HOTP).

The password generated can then be used as an additional requirement to enter through an SSH connection or in fact any type of configuration required.
