Exercise 1 - Set up Remote Assistance in Windows
Remote Assistance is a handy helpdesk support tool that can be used by support professionals to assist end-users when it comes to resolving common issues in Windows 10 and earlier client operating systems.
Setting up remote assistance involves the participation of an expert (technical support) and a novice (end-user). An end-user can use the help and support tool to invoke Remote Assistance by creating an invitation to the expert. The invite can be saved on a network share or sent via e-mail.
In this exercise, you will set up and use the Remote Assistance tool in the target and local computers.
Exercise 2 - Install Windows RSAT
Windows 10 comes with a group of applications organized under the Windows Administrative Tools folder. The admin tools provide a set of applications for performing the usual system maintenance such as event log audits, restrict computer access with local computer policy, disk volume management, resource monitoring, fend off unauthorized network traffic using Windows Firewall and among others.
When Windows is a domain-joined computer, its capabilities can be further extended with the Remote Server Administration Tools or RSAT. RSAT has tools such as Active Directory Users and Computers for managing domain-joined servers, domain controllers, creating users or managing security groups in the Active Directory Domain network.
