The Configure and Verify PPP on WAN Interfaces module provide you with the instructions and Cisco hardware to develop your hands on skills in configuring the Point-to-Point Protocol over WAN interfaces. This module includes the following exercises:
- Configuring a point to point link using HDLC and PPP
- Configuring PPP authentication over a WAN link
Exercise 1 - Configuring a Point-to-Point Link
In this exercise, you will perform the tasks required to configure a simple point-to-point WAN link between two routers.
In the lab, NYEDGE1 and NYEDGE2 are joined together via their Serial 0/0/0 interfaces with a back-to-back DTE-DCE serial cable. This type of cable is used to recreate the same conditions you would meet in the real world when configuring a WAN link between two sites.
Exercise 2 - Configuring a Point-to-Point Link using PPP
In this exercise you will perform the tasks required to configure an authenticated Point to Point Protocol, or PPP connection between two Cisco routers.
