Strange Geany Error

I am on the first exercise activity for python and am getting this error. 'python' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. ------------------ (program exited with code: 9009) Press any key to continue . . . Did I not set Geany up correctly? This means that python is not installed on your computer. Please install Python. Also You need to add the python executable path to your Window's PATH variable.
