Microsoft's Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certification is the starting point for understanding cloud computing and how it is implemented on the Microsoft Azure platform. This certification is ideal for individuals with non-technical backgrounds—such as those in sales, procurement, or project management—as well as technical professionals looking to validate their foundational knowledge. Earning this certification demonstrates your understanding of cloud principles, Azure services, and the platform's security, compliance, and pricing models.
The AZ-900 exam will test your knowledge across three main functional areas outlined by Microsoft, including:
- Describe cloud concepts: Understanding principles like High Availability, Scalability, and the differences between Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).
