What is the AZ-900?
Microsoft Azure Fundamentals is a foundational certification for professionals who will be working within the Microsoft Azure space. This certification proves that learners have a solid knowledge of cloud-based solutions and services specific to Microsoft’s Azure platform and it provides a pathway to more advanced Azure certifications.

In addditon, the course offers several labs that provide hands-on training towards mastering the Azure platform and exam.

Upon completion of this course, learners will have the knowledge and skills related to Microsoft Azure that are necessary to successfully pass the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) exam. This certification is the first of several certifications that are available for the Azure platform.

This Microsoft AZ-900 course is ideal for professionals who want to demonstrate that they have the foundational knowledge of cloud computing concepts specific to Azure, as well as those that have a desire to be AZ-900 certified. This course is designed to validate learners’ cloud knowledge and skill sets to current and potential employers, making them more attractive to hiring managers and recruiters. Learners taking this course are not required to have any previous IT experience, however it is helpful to have knowledge on basic IT.
What Can Someone Expect on the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals Exam (AZ-900)?
The Microsoft Azure fundamentals exam is an entry-level certification. Candidates for this certification are not required to have technical experience prior to taking the exam. There aren’t any prerequisites for taking this exam, nor is this exam a prerequisite for other Azure certification exams. However, passing this fundamentals exam will help prepare students for more advanced certifications. The exam covers all the basic fundamental subjects and concepts that one should know when pursuing a career in the cloud domain.
The AZ-900 exam was updated January 24, 2024 and is measured in three areas: Describe Cloud Concepts (25-30%), Describe Azure architecture and services (35-40%) and Describe Azure management and Governance (30-35%). The exam consists of 40-60 questions. Candidates can expect questions to include mixed multiple-choice and multiple-response. A passing score of 700 is required for certification, and 45 minutes is allowed for the exam. The cost for this certification exam is $99.00.
