The AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification is a premier credential for cloud professionals who design and deploy systems on Amazon Web Services. This certification is intended for individuals with one or more years of hands-on experience designing available, cost-efficient, fault-tolerant, and scalable distributed systems on AWS. Earning this certification validates your ability to architect and deploy secure and robust applications using the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
The exam will test your ability to design optimal IT solutions across four key domains:
- Design Secure Architectures: Implementing secure access to AWS resources and designing secure workloads and applications.
- Design Resilient Architectures: Designing scalable, loosely coupled architectures and ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.
- Design High-Performing Architectures: Selecting high-performing storage, databases, networking, and compute solutions for your workloads.
- Design Cost-Optimized Architectures: Identifying cost-effective storage, compute, and networking solutions and implementing cost-management strategies.

Gain hands-on experience creating a Windows Server virtual machine by using Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). Lab activities include: creating a new key pair to decrypt the password for an EC2 instance, creating a security group to allow access, and creating and connecting to an EC2 instance using an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) and RDP.
Configure Storage by Using EBS
Gain hands-on experience configuring storage by using Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) to create a volume that you can attach to an Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instance. Lab activities include: creating an EBS volume, modifying the EBS volume, and attaching the EBS volume to an EC2 instance.
Create a Launch Template
Gain hands-on experience creating a launch template for an Amazon Elastic Cloud Compute (Amazon EC2) instance. Lab activities include: configuring a key pair and a security group, creating a launch template based on an Amazon Machine Image (AMI), launching an EC2 instance, and establishing an SSH terminal connection to the instance using PuTTy.
