Today, I'm going to show you how to Fix a Virtualbox Showing Only 32Bit Guests on a 64Bit Host.In Windows-based Os's, there's a function called
"Virtualization".Virtualization is:
- a hardware virtualization or
- platform virtualization, which refers to the creation of a virtual machine that acts like a real computer within an OS
There are two factors which may cause you to see only 32Bit Guests on a 64Bit Host:
- Your version of Virtualbox
- Virtualization technology is turned off on your computer
First, we can try fixing the issue by downloading latest version of Virtualbox from the official website. If this doesn’t fix the issue, then it must be a virtualization error. Below are the steps for proper configuration to fix the error.Note: All PC’s have different types of BIOS versions. I have version 6.0 of BIOS and these steps are based on this version.Step 1. Close all windows and
restart your computer.Step 2. When the screen goes black, press
f12. (Many computer and laptops have different keys like
f2 or f10)Step 3. Go to
configuration tab and select
Intel Virtual Technology. (if your PC is set to their default settings, then it’s turned off or disabled by default.)Step 4. Enable the Intel Virtual Technology and press
f10 to save your settings and restart your PC. You’ll now be able to see 64Bit guests on your Virtualbox. Good luck and please post any comments below!
