Overview

CyberVista's CompTIA Network+ N10-008 Practice test is intended for beginning-level learners. It is a significant tool that should be a part of every candidate's study material.

What is the CompTIA Network+ Practice Test?

The CompTIA Network+ N10-008 Practice exam assesses your knowledge of network infrastructure, networking concepts, vulnerabilities, network operations, and troubleshooting in preparation for the CompTIA Network+ certification exam.

CyberVista's CompTIA Network+ N10-008 Practice test is targeted towards the Network Operations Specialist role. Upon successful completion of the practice test, you will have a good understanding of network infrastructure, networking concepts, vulnerabilities, network operations, and troubleshooting.

CyberVista's CompTIA Network+ N10-008 Practice test and associated study materials take most learners 1-4 hours to complete.

What Will I Learn on the CompTIA Network+ Practice Test?

In CyberVista's CompTIA Network+ N10-008 Practice test you will learn about networking infrastructure and concepts (IPv4 and IPv6), business continuity, how to read a network diagram, Cables (STP, UDP, FTP), cabling standards (568A and 568B specifications, their different configurations, termination points, and compatibility with other devices), what layer they fit into in the OSI model, restrictions (the maximum length they could go and how to determine them) and their applications in different networks.

You will learn about networks (Wireless networks (802.11ac, 802.11n, 801.11g), VoIP Networks, their limitations/disadvantages); compare and contrast the TCP/IP and OSI model, and what layer the different protocols fit in OSI model.

You will learn about various encryption and authentication mechanisms (their compatibility with Ipv4 and Ipv6 networks), network troubleshooting (The use of utilities such as Ping, telnet, Traceroute, etc.) in finding the root issues and solving problems pertaining to network connectivity).

You will learn about IP addressing, subnetting, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Virtual LANs, Access Control Lists (ACLs), Intermediate devices (Switches, Routers, HUBS), management documentation (network diagrams) and the OSI model.

You will learn about basic security attacks (Social engineering, man-in-the-middle attack, Ping of Death, Brute force), standard defense mechanisms (Proxies, firewall, device hardening, DMZ) and the need for standard policies (Note: A system is only as strong as its weakest link).

You will learn about various layer protocols (UDP, TFTP, DNS, SNMP, DHCP), wireless security protocols (WEP, WPA/WPA2) network security (Common network vulnerabilities and the use of VPNs).

What Does the CompTIA Network+ Practice Exam Entail?

The CompTIA Network+ N10-008 certification exam was released in September 2021 and covers five domains:

  • Networking Fundamentals
  • Network Troubleshooting
  • Network Implementations
  • Network Security
  • Network Operations

Like the actual exam, the Network+ practice exam consists of questions from each exam objective. The real CompTIA certification test has 90 questions, for which test-takers will have 90 minutes to complete. It is mostly multiple-choice questions, but there are also performance-based questions.

To pass the certification exam, candidates must score at least 720 (on a scale of 100-900).

How Should I Prepare for the CompTIA Network+ Certification Exam?

Preparing for the CompTIA Network+ certification exam requires that candidates have the necessary skills and knowledge that the test covers. For the best chance of passing the exam on the first attempt, candidates should take Cybrary’s CompTIA Network+ training course. The course comprehensively covers all exam domains and is conveniently online and self-paced. Learners should follow up the training course and study sessions with Network+ practice tests to make sure they are ready for the actual exam.
