Cydefe's Vulnerability Scan CTF Assessment is a Cybrary Capture-the-Flag (CTF) Assessment created for students of Intermediate level. Cydefe's Vulnerability Scan CTF Assessment is a hands-on assessment to identify, classify and prioritize vulnerabilities in the provided VM. Cydefe's Vulnerability Scan CTF Assessment examines students use of penetration testing/vulnerability assessment tools and techniques, knowledge on how to identify application vulnerability assessments, to conduct and classify vulnerability scans and ability to recognize vulnerabilities in security systems. Upon successful completion of the Cydefe Vulnerability Scan CTF Assessment, the student will be able to identify vulnerabilities in applications, apply cybersecurity principles like Patch management, implement a security solution against vulnerable applications and scan computers for default and commonly used passwords on a computer system, apply policy standards that match cybersecurity policies. The Cydefe Vulnerability Scan CTF Assessment takes approximately 1 to 2 hours to complete for most students.

In Cydefe's Vulnerability Scan CTF Assessment, students will learn about assessing for a vulnerability, which involves identifying vulnerabilities in an application and their configuration data. Conducting a vulnerability assessment is a key part of the Vulnerability Assessment work role and helps to identify systemic security issues based on the analysis.

In Cydefe's Vulnerability Scan CTF Assessment, students will learn about assessing for web application security and internet protocol knowledge, which involves finding various methods available for exploit. This is a key part of the Vulnerability Assessment work role and builds the ability to share reconnaissance data to the Team to improve an organization’s threat environment.

In Cydefe's Vulnerability Scan CTF Assessment, students will learn about assessing a computer system for weak credentials, which involves various methods to find default or commonly used passwords. This is a key part of the Vulnerability Assessment work role used to audit organizational security and builds to the ability to oversee policy standards and implementation strategies to ensure procedures and guidelines comply with cybersecurity policies.

Cydefe's Vulnerability Scan CTF Assessment is part of the SOC Analyst career path. Completion of Cydefe's Vulnerability Scan CTF Assessment means that the student has demonstrated the ability to use different security tools, plugin and the ability to scan for vulnerabilities on a web application, internet protocol, and weak credentials. Cydefe's Vulnerability Scan is presented by Cybrary and was created by CyDefe.
