Hello! My name is Gerri Roberts and I am a college professor and IT/IS Professional. I am originally from Palm Beach, FL and am currently residing in Mount Dora, FL. I moved to Central FL in 2003 for college – I did my first 2 and a half years at UCF in the Electrical Engineering program. I liked it so much, I stayed in Central Florida.

I am married and have 12 cats and 8 lizards. We bought our home in 2012 and have been in Mount Dora, FL since.

I have been working in the IT industry for 13 years, however I have been working for computers much longer than that. I built my first computer in 1992 at the age of 7. I caught the bug right away. In high school, I was fortunate enough to be able to go to the local computer magnet school and take computer classes before I hit college. In college I dual majored in Electrical Engineering (Microtechnology) and Computer Science. I changed schools in 2005 due to family issues. I completed my Bachelors in 2007 in Software Engineering. I went on to complete a Masters in Information Systems Management (concentration in Information Security) and a Masters in Network Communications Management (CISCO oriented). I am currently working on my PhD in Information Assurance and Security. I am in the Dissertation Phase and hope to be completed by June of 2020.

I am avid proponent of education and training. I believe everyone should have access to training and education.
