Course Description

Are you prepared to pass the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam?

In this course, you will learn the fundamentals to AWS services and obtain the knowledge necessary to pass the Certified Cloud Practitioner exam. This course is designed for the non-technical who are interested in AWS Cloud services and technology. No prior AWS experience will be required for this course. We will cover everything from the basics to slightly more advanced topics that will get you on the path to using AWS services.

What Is the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Certification?

Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform, the leading cloud service provider worldwide, offers a variety of certifications that allow professionals to demonstrate their competence in cloud technology. One such certification is the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner credential.

The Cloud Practitioner certification is an entry-level credential that is designed to ensure that cloud technicians have a foundational knowledge of the AWS cloud. Candidates for this certification must know the architectural and operational principles, value proposition, services, security, and compliance related to the AWS cloud platform to achieve a passing score on the certification exam.

What is Involved in this AWS Cloud Practitioner Training?

In Cybrary’s free AWS Cloud Practitioner training course, students will learn all the applicable skills and information they need to know to attain their certification. The areas that are covered both in training and on the certification exam are:

  • Basic understanding of core architectural principles
  • AWS cloud’s value proposition
  • Fundamental AWS services and how they are used
  • Essential aspects of AWS’s security and compliance model
  • Core implementation and operating principles

Who should take this AWS Cloud Practitioner Training?

The AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner training course is designed to benefit anyone who is looking to gain a general understanding of the AWS cloud platform. Students will learn about the core services, security, support, and pricing offered by AWS. The knowledge that is gained will benefits both students and the organizations they work for.

Additionally, the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner course is ideal for professionals in non-technical roles who need to have a high-level overview of the AWS cloud platform. This may include managers, salespeople, marketers, financial, and C-level professionals.

How Much Does an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Make?

The AWS certification program was only launched in 2013. Even so, professionals who have earned AWS certifications are among the highest paid IT certification holders. In fact, according to the 2018 IT Skills and Salary Report from Global Knowledge, AWS certified professionals earn an average of $113,261.

The AWS Cloud Practitioner certification is an entry-level certification, so the earning potential for professionals with only this certification will be lower. But it is safe to say that as entry-level salaries go, the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification will garner better salaries than other entry-level positions.

What Can Someone Expect on the AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification Exam?

The certification exam for AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner is an introductory level test that demonstrates candidates’ understanding of the core principles of AWS’s cloud platform. Students taking the test can expect to be examined regarding the key services, features, and use cases of the platform. There will be questions about AWS’s security and compliance model, as well as about the platform’s support, billing, and pricing. There will likely be questions that demonstrate proficiency in deploying services and resources in the AWS cloud.

There are no prerequisites to sit the exam for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification. However, it is recommended that candidates have at least six months of AWS experience, though it can be in any capacity (non-technical roles like management, sales, and finance are included). This certification is ideal for candidates who want to be able to show that they have a general, but thorough, knowledge of the AWS platform.

The certification exam for AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (exam code CLF-C01) is a multiple choice/multiple response test for which test-takers have 90 minutes to complete. There are 65-68 questions on the exam and candidates must have a passing score of 65-75% to earn their certification.
