In the middle of the current pandemic, it has been proven that cloud services are a great tool to guarantee business continuity.
Because Office 365 runs in the cloud, servers aren't needed for storage regarding websites, emails, or documents. Removing onsite servers will reduce both energy costs and the need for office space to store server hardware, which makes the cost savings substantial.
More than 155 million users are active every month in the Microsoft Cloud, with more than 100 million accessing via mobile apps.
If we see the scalability and storage capacity, Cloud services are generally implemented in large, dedicated data centers, composed of millions of computing systems. The scalability and storage capacity should not be a problem for the business. For this reason, we will review the three main groups of licenses and all of their advantages (Commercial, Education, and Government).
The objective of the Office 365 Migration course, which lasts 2 hours and 42 minutes, is to provide the necessary knowledge to be able to successfully migrate to the Office365 suite, a SAAS (Software as a Service), which allows any member of the organization to access the following services in the comfort of their own home:
- Exchange: email
- OneDrive: files
- Sharepoint: sites
The objectives of this course are:
- To strategize an organization's Office 365 migration plan.
- To determine the correct Exchange Online migration method for various scenarios.
- To detail the processes involved in OneDrive and SharePoint Online content migration.
- To outline an adequate licensing level for various end-use scenarios.
This course is split into five modules. In the first module, the instructor introduces himself and the content of the course. He also does an overview of Office 365 and explains how to decide if a migration is a good decision giving one's circumstances. In the second module, the instructor goes over tenants, licensing, ports and services, active directory, and tools as they relate to Office 365 and the migration process. The third module is a deep dive into different identity options, specifically cloud-only, Active Directory Federation Services, and Azure Active Directory Connect. The instructor illustrates the different types of migration that can be done in module four and finishes off the course by explaining SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.
