The cybersecurity skills gap is a continuous and difficult challenge – and one (among many things) that the industry is working hard to resolve. Knowing first-hand what it's like to be in the cybersecurity fight every day while struggling to find the people and skills you need to get the job done is what makes me so passionate about this next phase for Cybrary, and my new role at the company as CEO.

First and foremost, I want to thank Ryan Corey and Ralph Sita for their tremendous success in building such an incredible company from the ground up. Not only have they led the company through the Seed, Series A, and Series B funding rounds, raising nearly $23 million to date, they’ve also continued to develop high-growth products and an invaluable community of business customers, partners, and Cybrary users. As such, I couldn't be more proud and grateful for the hard work and determination they've put into Cybrary since its humble beginnings in January 2015.

A New Chapter to Fix The Same Problem My passion for culture, people, and cybersecurity allows me the opportunity to combine my love of technology, business, and leadership to propel the company into its next phase of growth. To be able to join Cybrary to help build impactful teams and arm people with the skills necessary for an ever-evolving and increasingly important career is very exciting.

During a time when cybersecurity events dominate headlines and executive’s headspace, Cybrary’s mission is even more critical. Beyond those big name breaches, there are many more behind the walls of organizations that you won’t hear stories about, but the patterns, and the lessons we at Cybrary take from them are the same. We have the opportunity and resources to help prevent these issues by bridging the industry skills gap while simultaneously upskilling millions of cybersecurity professionals to help grow their careers. It’s a big responsibility, but I know this talented team is ready to take on the challenge.

Leading the Charge Having spent the last 8 years as COO fighting adversaries at scale, I know security expertise is essential to our business and it remains one of my biggest concerns. I also know how hard it is to find and retain cybersecurity talent, an impossible task for even the federal government. Companies need help transforming the skillsets of their workforce and empowering people who have the drive to become the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.

In a short time, Cybrary has made great strides in the industry being recognized as the world's leading cybersecurity professional development platform. We aspire to be the number one destination for individuals and teams to develop, deepen, measure, and prove their cybersecurity skills. As the demand for cybersecurity professionals explodes and the skills gap increases along with it, Cybrary is in an opportunistic position to solve these challenges for professionals and organizations alike.

As Cybrary continues to grow, my primary objective will continue to execute around our mission and accelerate our innovation and growth to have an even bigger, positive impact on the millions of people and numerous organizations we serve. I’m looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting started. We have big goals, and I’m excited to lead this team through this next phase of Cybrary’s journey and beyond.
