A Cybrary Year in Review: 2017
January 9, 2018
Like many of you, the Cybrary team is excited for the New Year ahead. A new year means new learning goals and a renewed sense of motivation to better yourself and your career. We’ll be the first to say, we’re excited about all the things we can achieve together, and we’re certain that Cybrarians are going to make this year the best yet! But, before we jump ahead to goal-setting, we felt it was important to take a look back at 2017 and reflect on some of the amazing milestones we reached together. First, and perhaps most importantly, Cybrary hit 1 million users on May 8th. In typical Cybrary fashion, we celebrated with unicorn cupcakes surrounded by all those who made this success possible.Next, in August, Cybrary began to expand not just our user base, but our team as well. Most notably, we brought on Kathie Miley as Chief Operating Officer. Kathie, who came with more than 20 years of leadership and sales experience to Cybrary, worked previously as the Senior Vice President of Global Sales at Endgame and Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Invincea, Inc. and is focused on designing and implementing company business strategies, plans, and procedures. She is poising Cybrary to evolve based on consumer needs in 2018.Cybrary took another big leap ahead when our Co-Founders secured $3.5 million in Series A funding through Arthur Ventures with participation from Ron Gula, Founder of Tenable Network Security, and other existing investors. At that time, Ryan Corey, Co-Founder, said, "Over the past 10 months we have focused on releasing training products for businesses while also building the world's largest marketplace for hands-on cyber security labs and assessments. We are very thankful to not only the 1.2 million members who have joined us, but the world-class security organizations now using us and contributing to the platform, which helps to make these products best-in-class. In just the past four months, Cybrary has experienced 400 percent growth in revenue from these products and this financing will be used to support this explosive demand."Since the fundraise, Cybrary has continued to grow the team, adding a dedicated Customer Success Manager, which has allowed us to release an enhanced member experience, Cybrary Insider Pro. Cybrary Insider Pro takes learning on Cybrary to a whole new level with expedited customer support, early access to content, and exclusive promotions, discounts, and swag, just for Insider Pro members. We have and will continue to partner with organizations, like Point3 Security, to provide members access to the latest experiential learning tools and the best content in the industry.Outside of what Cybrary as a company has done, we want to celebrate your accomplishments, too. We are truly amazed by the hard work and dedication of our members, not to mention some of the inspiring stories we’ve heard.
