Are We There Yet?
Here you are, about to graduate from college. Congratulations. You are now ready to begin your career. Let’s say you have decided to go into the field of Information Technology (IT). You’ve always been good with fixing any issues that arise on your home computer, and at school, you and your friends have found all different ways in which to manipulate the schools system to do what you want and go where you wanted on the Internet during computer class, even though it was blocked by the schools system administrator. So it has become a hobby and you would like to continue with it. The question is, where do you start?
Over the course of your studies, your instructors have given you some ideas on which field does what and which one is the “hot” topic of the IT field at that moment and told you that everyone needs the basics, A+, Network+, and for most places now, Security+. It is taking that first step that is the hardest, because, once you take it, you are headed down the path of whatever decision you have made. Too bad there isn’t a road map to help you. Or, is there?
This is a little something that I found and I wish that I had this map to help me when I first started out in the IT field. It would have saved me money, time, and a lot of frustration of attending classes that I really did not need. The question is, where do I go from here?
I am not endorsing any company, but CompTIA does have some good information, and I felt that this road map is something that is greatly needed, especially for those just starting out.
Go to the link below, when you get to the site, click on the link “Download Full Roadmap PDF”. There is no signup membership, you don’t already need a CompTIA certification to access this map. Just click on the link, download it, and post it above your desk, and begin your journey. Good luck in your travels.
