Using Appropriate Safety Procedures: Airborn Particles (part 2)

In trying to protect unused equipment, we would use electrostatic bags; it’s a storage and shipping & handling bag.  It helps prevent electrostatic charges between the device and you, and even when in storage as a handling protection best practice. HDD, if jarred around too much, can crash and destroy the hard drive and makes retrieval of that data excessively expense. If you notice how devices and components are delivered, you can get a clear indication of how important the handling of devices and device components is taken.  Bubble wrap is another excellent protector against the damage caused by a device being jarred or shaken, bumped.  Toner cartridges are delivered in electrostatic bags and firm form fitted paper material to prevent electric shock and jarring/crushing of the toner itself. Local and/or federal regulations are another environmental factor that must be accommodated for device handling. Proper shipping of batteries, proper disposal of used toner cartridges, recharge practices for batteries are all examples of additional handling and local or federal operational regulations that must be followed.  Not only are there safety hazards but environmental hazards and fines associated with failure to obey regulations.
