Video Description

This subsection now looks at OSI Layer 4, and discusses why it's the transport layer. We also examine in great details security functions SSL/TSL and its use as a layer 4 protocol, but how as a function it actually spans layers 4 thru 7, and why that's important. You'll learn about exploits in the TCP handshake, how it's different from UDP, what the difference is between FTP and TFTP, and what services occurs at OSI layer 5. Another OSI layer discussed is layer 6, the Presentation layer where we correlate encryption, compression and formatting, and demonstrate why this is essential to computing. And finally we discuss the Application layer, layer 7 which defines how protocols send data that different applications and programs understand.
