Technical Protection part 1

This lesson covers technical protection, which are also called logical protections. These are hardware or software controls which allow or prevent access to a resource. There are several technical control classifications; examples include:

  • Mandatory access controls
  • Discretionary Access Controls

This lesson also covers protecting what’s contained in a database through using database views, authentication methods, managing biometric systems as well as the drawbacks of biometrics and network access protection methods. Participants also learn about network firewalls which allows for access to a network relative to certain factors.
