Task Scheduler, Component Services & Data Sources

Task Scheduler, Component Services & Data Sources Task Scheduling, Component Services and Data Sources are another interrelated group of mission critical Windows Administrative Tools you must master as an A+ Certified Professional.  Why, they are time and data capture sensitive services.  This is especially true for Task Scheduling service. Task Scheduling allows you to schedule and control when certain necessary tasks are performed, they run on certain triggers and perform a certain action when that trigger occurs. For example, as a time management and load balancing best practice, you wouldn’t and could run a system backup at 10a on a Tuesday during regular business hours after you’re your staff have logged into the system. So instead you schedule the company backup process to run after 1 or 2 am when you can confirm its unlikely anyone is on the system, and manually shut down any system found to be still logged in. So from this lesson, you’ll learn the intricacies of creating Tasks or modifying existing task and the various ways in which that can be accomplished.  We’ll also discuss Component Services, which allows us to use the COM Standard (component object module), a functionality development tool, and how the Data Sources tool helps in the use of OBDC.
