Software & Driver / Firmware Updates

Software & Driver Firmware Updates

Just as with Windows Updates, the other software products we use that are installed on computing systems have updates that are released from their respective manufacturers/developers.

For this lesson, we examine the benefits of knowing whether or not these updates occur automatically from the vendor, if they must be pursued for updates and if those update installations occur automatically or your system displays notifications.

You will come to understand the benefit of Windows prompting for most update vendor utilities for their firmware and driver updates rather than assuming the installation contains the most recent and one that complies with the OS minimum requirements since they are OS and hardware specific.
