This lesson explores the environment of wireless networking and examines the way in which we can assure security for that network.

We ill diagram and examine each component of a wireless network, discuss its relationship to the OSI layer and look at how the wireless connection and protocols work together.  You’ll learn what an SSID is, how its configured, what the term broadcast means and how an ID can be viewed or hidden for connectivity to occur.

We’ll explain MAC filtering, the use of antenna and the importance of placement and the various encryption types used for key exchange in the authentication process.
