In this video, I will be talking about PC architecture or uh, in detail about what are the components of the PC.
So, uh, BC components are. And I'm just going to mention a couple of those which are completely not interesting from the point off. Mighty security, for example, the case of the of the PC than the power supply
and then things that usually come with the PC, which is display if you're talking about the notebook or, ah, monitor. If you're talking about the desktop PC.
So these things and maybe some external speakers or speakers built in the monitor they are. They're definitely not interesting from security standpoint, but what we are interested in
is the motherboards and components on the motherboards. So
they say, this is one typical desktop mother board on this mother board. You have ah, socket for process in which you put the process there over which you put the cooler.
Then you have a trips up
and chips. It is basically, but it's name says it's a set of chips that are managing the connection on on the Elektronik level between processor and the components off the
BC, which can be the
politic memory. So there is some kind of memory controller and the trip said that controls memory
on then their input output. Parts of a PC that
consists off network connection, which can be wireless or wife by wife of Wired. And you can have USB ports. And of course, you have, AH, graphic output and out dealings and now the routes. And then you have some kind of connectors for keyboards and stuff like that.
But there are also some other things that trips it is controlling, like PC I Bus, for example, which is there to connect
things like solid state drives, which are using end up to interface or graphic cards off, or some other cars that can be put in the PC.
So all these things are essentially controlled by chip set on on a level that is beyond the process, or so it's. It's handling what's a signal levels so that the process says something,
put it to the memory memory controller, receives the date and then physically stores it in the memory in Ram.
Then we have things that are not sitting on the mother board assess necessarily like storage, which is going be hard drive. Orissa's The SSD sometimes can just actually sit on the mother board, because there is.
past couple of years, manufacturers have decided to put the end up to socket on the motherboards so you can put one or two solid state drives directly on the mother board,
which is then s O that you don't need in the additional PC a board on which you'd put them
and then you have a graphics cards
and graphics card is very important thing today because sometimes it has much stronger processor in certain ways than is what is used on on the PC itself. So you can have ah in high and graphic card, which costs more than the rest of the PC.
But together you can have, ah, you know, 102 100 core processor that can handle graphic data with enormous speed. And these is this is used so in
in graphic card that are there for gaining or for creating content like games or or three D environment. So virtual worlds. So
these things can be really expensive, really powerful, and they're potentially a threat to security because if they're compromised, they can. They can be used in many things.
