our first layer is going to be our physical layer or our layer one. Now our physical layer again is going to be all about cables and bits. So it's going to be physical things that we can hold physical things that we can measure. And it's gonna include everything from electrical impulses. Thio also wireless state of its traveling back and forth.
We may not think about wireless signals as being
actual physical, physical things, but they are their radio, even though their radio signals they're still physically measurable signals. So those air going to be layer one. So these cables and bits, it's our physical slash electrical stage
elect electrical impulses. Electricity is something that's physical, something that we can measure.
So we consider that on our layer one level, this is going to be where we start the conversion between our signals to our data or our data to our signals are logical. Are computerized data, the actual packets and packages.
I need to have some sort of conversion to
Elektronik signals, and this is where that occurs. We need to be able to send those signals over physical mediums because we we haven't gotten to the point where we can just transmit a non physical date idea of aid of data back and forth between different computers
at their core components. Everything going on in our computer is still physical,
whether it's through wires or electricity. So we need to be ableto have a way to understand that point in our in our O S I model and that's gonna be our layer one our physical layer.
Now this physical layer includes everything from pronounce,
such as the pin out on our cables and the pin out on our pins that we plug into our connectors to voltages
when we're measuring different voltages and we're measuring the voltage. Is that air going across a cable? Those voltages are considered layer one their physical voltages. Cable specifications are all layer one, and network interface cards are also layer one components.
Network interface cards are going to be the physical ports
and the physical cards inside our computer. So when just as a good idea when we're thinking of the layer one, we're thinking at of the first point in our transfer of data,
the first point in our NETWORKINGS in our series of stages in order to perform a network connection between us and a computer
where we're actually we actually have physical signals. We actually have things that we can measure and things that we can hold. Those were going to be our layer one devices.
