>> In this Nexpose tutorial,
00:00
I'm going to be showing you different ways that you
00:00
can view your assets within Nexpose.
00:00
Now, in previous videos,
00:00
I showed you how to create reports which are great
00:00
for distributing it out to different people,
00:00
baselining, and remediating.
00:00
Reports are much more formal and not always the easiest,
00:00
most efficient way to get
00:00
the information that you're looking for out of Nexpose.
00:00
What we're going to do is go ahead and click on
00:00
the Assets tab and
00:00
this will show you all the different ways that you can
00:00
view your assets that have ever been scanned.
00:00
You'll notice the top two by sites and by asset groups,
00:00
which I have gone over in other videos
00:00
and these are the more common ways.
00:00
Notice, if you click on Sites,
00:00
this is just going to bring you to a site
00:00
listing where you can
00:00
then click on the particular site that you
00:00
want and view all the assets within that site.
00:00
I'm just going to go ahead and click on Back
00:00
and I'll show you the same for the asset groups.
00:00
You can go ahead and you can then click on
00:00
the asset group and this will show
00:00
you all of the devices within that asset group.
00:00
Now, the more interesting ways
00:00
to view your assets are by
00:00
operating system by services
00:00
running on them and by software.
00:00
First, I'll go ahead and show you my operating system.
00:00
What this is going to do is list all of
00:00
the different operating systems that have
00:00
ever been found by Nexpose.
00:00
This gives you an easy way to view, say,
00:00
all of your Windows XP Professional Systems.
00:00
I'm going to go ahead and click on this,
00:00
and you'll see a listing of all of
00:00
those devices with this operating system.
00:00
Also, let us check if you want to export this
00:00
to Excel to reference later on.
00:00
If you're using IE, they'll have
00:00
an export to Excel icon right here.
00:00
Clicking on this will open up Excel
00:00
and copy this entire portlet onto a spreadsheet.
00:00
Next, we're just going to go
00:00
back and I'll show you this.
00:00
You could do the same thing with services.
00:00
You'll see a listing of all the services
00:00
that Nexpose have found.
00:00
You can go find one such as Telnet,
00:00
click on it, and
00:00
it'll show you all the devices that are running Telnet.
00:00
Same thing goes, this export to Excel.
00:00
Icon is available on any of
00:00
the portlets within Nexpose UI.
00:00
Final way to view is by software.
00:00
You can click here and it will show you a listing of
00:00
all the software on all of the devices in your system.
00:00
Here, the same thing,
00:00
Nexpose show you all the software installed,
00:00
and then you can click on anything
00:00
you want and it will show
00:00
you the devices that have the software installed on them.
00:00
Then you can even continue further and click on
00:00
a particular device and
00:00
Nexpose will bring it to the device listing.
00:00
Nexpose definitely makes it easy and
00:00
very intuitive just to navigate around the UI.
00:00
If we go back to that assets page, of course,
00:00
you can also view just a listing of
00:00
all of your assets within Nexpose.
00:00
That's it. It's easy enough.
00:00
This can definitely come in handy.
00:00
A very useful way to gather
00:00
all the information that you need out of Nexpose.
00:00
If you have any questions about anything
00:00
discussed in this video,
00:00
go ahead and click on the support link in
00:00
the upper right-hand corner.
00:00
>> Thanks for watching.
