>> In this tutorial, I'm going to be showing you
00:00
how to create an asset group.
00:00
Asset groups are important and they
00:00
come with a number of advantages,
00:00
and they're also very easy to create.
00:00
Since an asset group can contain
00:00
assets from multiple sites,
00:00
each using a different scan engine,
00:00
you can then generate reports
00:00
incorporating information from multiple scan engines.
00:00
This is important because sites are
00:00
configured with only scanning in mind.
00:00
Whereas asset groups are much more
00:00
flexible and are great for limiting users access,
00:00
as well as reporting on select devices.
00:00
To get started, just go down to
00:00
the asset group listing and click on "New Asset Group".
00:00
This will bring you to
00:00
the asset group configuration wizard.
00:00
Once here, the first thing to do is go ahead
00:00
and give your asset group a name.
00:00
This can be anything you like
00:00
and can be changed at any time.
00:00
I'm going to create a group
00:00
>> with all of my Linux servers.
00:00
>> So I'm just going to name this Linux Servers.
00:00
You also have the option, if you want to give
00:00
it a description, feel free.
00:00
Click on "Next," and this will
00:00
bring you to where you can select the devices.
00:00
So go ahead and click on "Select Devices".
00:00
Again, I'm going to be creating this group
00:00
for all of my Linux machines.
00:00
So it's easiest for me to just sort it by OS name.
00:00
I'll go ahead and click on Linux
00:00
and then apply the filter.
00:00
All of my Linux machines will show up and I can just
00:00
select All right here and click on "Save".
00:00
You can repeat this process if you have to
00:00
choose more devices as well.
00:00
Go ahead and click "Save" once
00:00
you've entered in all the devices for the group.
00:00
As you can see, you new asset group is
00:00
now listed in your asset group listing.
00:00
You can give a user access
00:00
to be able to view and report on
00:00
this asset group or you
00:00
can just use this asset group to report on yourself.
00:00
If you have any other questions,
00:00
you can always click on the support link
00:00
in the upper right-hand corner.
