Network Devices: Switches

Now we explore switches, which are like hubs in that they sit at the center of our network and receive packets, though they remember MAC addresses, differing from hubs.

In this video, we’re going to demonstrate on a real hub. You’ll see how cabling is used, how switch transmission is configured and how to diagram actual connectivity and transaction.

You’ll learn how the MAC address, port assignment, device naming all come together, and how each of the hub types functions and the relationship of one device to another.
